There are many ways in which Switzerland was confronted with the Nazi extermination of European Jews. From Hitler's rise to power in 1933 to the end of the War in 1945, numerous persecuted Jews attempted to seek refuge in Switzerland, temporarily at least. Again and again, officials were faced with complicated decisions.
